Perfluoroelastomer, FFKM

2025/6/18      view:

Perfluoroelastomer Material:
Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) are carbon-fluorine bond with one of the best thermal, oxidative and chemical stability of fluorinated polymers. High reliability for dynamic and static applications and stability for aggressive media. FFKM currently offers the higher
operating temperature range, the more comprehensive chemical compatibility, and the lower off-gassing and extractable levels than all others compunds due to the combination between the carbon-atom and fluorine-atom. FFKM has poor low temperature performance.

What's The Difference Between Perfluorocarbon (FFKM) & Fluorocarbon (FKM) ?
While some characteristics can be common in FKM and FFKM materials, there are significant differences in chemistry and use of the materials. Fluorocarbon material (FKM) in general is used in higher temperature applications up to 200° C or when compatibility with chemicals and fluids are concerned. Incompatible material usage can lead to premature, or in some cases, catastrophic failure. Refer to published compatibility tables for proper material selection.

Perfluoranted materials (FFKM) are significantly more costly than standard FKM material and are used in extreme cases and environments. Temperature ranges can reach 300° C and offer wide chemical and harsh environment capability. Contact Uninovo Seal for more information on Perfluoronated materials.

Uninovo Seal has the expertise and inventory for your perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) o-ring applications. For over 20 years, we has been the leading engineering, quality, and supply chain choice for both standard and custom sealing applications. A seal, no matter the application, has to do just that.
